In 2015, Kurt & Cyndi were both grief-stricken, each having suffered the death of their spouses. Out of the blue, some mutual friends of theirs invited them on a mission trip to Ukraine. Having never met each other, Kurt & Cyndi agreed and set off for Eastern Europe.
Kurt & Cyndi experienced multiple blessings sitting amongst orphaned children and adults who had been separated from their families who were also suffering tremendous grief. It was through this experience that Kurt & Cyndi began to understand how to honor God through their brokenness.
It was long after the trip that Cyndi & Kurt fell in love and were married in October of 2015, however they couldn’t shake their recent trip to Ukraine and the memory of 4-year-old Dasha. They knew they wanted to adopt, but lacked the financial means to move forward.
God, in His providence, did what only He can do and connected Cyndi & Kurt with the Tim Tebow Foundation’s adoption assistance aid program. The couple joyfully proceeded in adopting Dasha and her best friend, Tanya, as well as Veronika, Tanya’s biological sister!
